Lockdowns

The studio is nearly there.  We’re looking at a launch around May 23rd.  We got a cable lock today to discourage any equipment from walking.

Keyboard

Well, the new keyboard arrived in the studio – the old one just had the pitch-bend, modulation and a volume slider – the new one has got all that, drum pads, panning, voices … I haven’t had a good explore yet to know what it can do.  Hoping to sit down with CJ soon and have a good explore.

The studio …

The studio is up and running – the computer, keyboard and controllers are all there, ready and working for someone to come in and start making music.  I’ll do a full gear-list soon.  This is exciting.

Layout

We’re working on the layout for Sound and Vision at the moment, so there should be a lot of changes coming up in the next few months.  One thing you’ll notice fairly soon will be that the old pianon practice room is getting turned into a little recording suite – you can make and record your own songs.  More on the equipment that’ll be in there soon.

Again …

Well, nearly half-way through my tenure as Weekend Supervisor – it’s disappearing quickly.  It will be nice to just be back on 8 hour days, but I will miss the stimulation and edginess of the weekends.

Summer

Summer comes to a close, mmm I like the light in the mornings.  Slowly working on more music, making sure my tax books are up to date and working on writing (revisions on the current novel, notes for the next, and tutoring the CW course at Massey).  Gotta paint the house too – will be water-blasting this week.

Busy again

Well, haven’t written here for a while – lots going on.  For the next five months I’ll be working as weekend supervisor and spending the other three days (Monday, Tuesday and Friday) back in S&V, job-sharing with Craig who’ll be the boss on Wednesdays and Thursdays.

Christmas music

Yep, the Christmas music is pretty popular again, so it must be that time of year.  I don’t get it myself, but there you go.
