Speakers

August 28, 2006

We used the speakers from the office computer with one of the DVD players for the Languages Week events last week, but I managed to drop one when I was putting them back onto the computer – so no sounds in the workroom until I can get them replaced.  Just have to crank up the S&V stereo a bit.

Film Festival

August 25, 2006

I’ve been flat out busy here – catching up after some time off, but I’ve still managed to see some good films at the festival – Jindabyne, Brick and Factotum.  Enjoyed them all, though Factotum seemed a bit slow and unresolved.  Hoping to get to see The White Masai and Ten Canoes this weekend.

Busy Days

August 10, 2006

New display prep day again, lots of stuff this week, so another full display.  We’ve made a bit of a change and we’ll be keeping our boxed DVDs together, but looking at changing the way we do our pricing on them.

Suspended feathers

August 8, 2006

Album of the moment by Alio Die.  Wonderful chill music.  Described as a “real ambient masterpiece” on equilibrium music – http://www.equilibriummusic.com/dtltitle.php3?AlbumID=2453

I bought my copy through Shopsonic – http://www.ambientmusic.co.uk.

Distracted

August 4, 2006

A good new display this week – Brokeback Mountain, March of the Penguins and Broken Flowers all out on DVD.  Great films, loved them all when I saw them at the movies.
